Breast Lift Procedure in Bangok, Thailand

The medical term for Breast lift is Mastopexy. Women suffer from a host of factors that affect the shape and firmness of their breasts including:

Loss of skin elasticity

Gravity
Weight loss
Pregnancy
Breast-feeding

This affects the self-esteem and morale of women. It appears that American women are taking action and undergoing breast lifts with the American Society of Plastic Surgeons claiming that 93,000 breast lift procedures were performed in 2005 in the USA alone.

What Would You Do If Someone Told You That It Was Possible To Enjoy A Holiday

And Breast Lift For Less Than What You Would Pay In The United States?

They are certainly not lying. A breast lift in the Naravee Aesthetic Center, Bangkok, Thailand will cost you a fraction of what it would in the United States. Best of all, you get world class surgeons performing the operation with recuperation taking place in the beautiful Bangkok surroundings.

What Happens During A Breast Lift?

A breast lift is fundamentally different from breast augmentation in that the procedure is intended to enhance the shape of the breasts rather than the size. Breast lift surgery raises and reshapes sagging breasts, by removing excess skin and repositioning the remaining tissue and nipples to improve its appearance. A breast lift can also reduce the size of the areola – the darker skin surrounding the nipple.

Some patients may be unhappy that they have lost a significant amount of breast volume over time. In such cases, implants inserted in conjunction with a breast lift can increase breast size and at the same time, the shape and position of the breasts are enhanced. A breast lift to raise and firm them results in a more youthful breast contour.

About the Procedure

Preoperative Condition:
Breast Ptosis

Anesthesia:
General Anesthesia

Surgical Planning
The choice of procedure will depend on the degree of ptosis, the skin type, the desire to have breast augmented at the same time. Among the type of techniques, the most common procedure involves an anchor-shaped incision by following the natural contour of the breast (periareolar + vertical incision).

Surgical Procedure:
The surgeon outlines the area from which breast skin is removed and defines the new location for the nipple. When the excess skin has been removed, the nipple and areola are moved to the higher position. The skin surrounding the areola is then brought down together to reshape the breast. Stitches are usually located around the areola in a vertical line extending downwards from the nipple area, and along lower crease of the breast. Some patients, especially those, who have small breasts and minimal sagging, may be candidates for modified procedures requiring less extensive incisions. For example, one such procedure is the "doughnut (or concentric) mastopexy," in which circular incisions are made around the areola, and a doughnut-shaped area of skin is removed. If patients having an implant inserted along with their breast lift, the implant will be placed in a pocket directly under the breast tissue, or deeper, under the muscle of the chest wall.

Duration of Operation:
Three to four hours.

Admission:
Four days and three nights.

Result:
The breast is positioned to sit in a good position with a good shape and symmetry. Incisional scar varies with the size of breast reduction. The larger the original breast size, the longer the scar will be. Your surgeon will make every effort to make your scars as inconspicuous as possible. Still, it's important to remember that mastopexy scars are extensive and permanent. They often remain lumpy and red for months, and then gradually become less obvious, sometimes eventually fading to thin white lines. Fortunately, the scars can usually be placed so that you can wear even low-cut tops.

Postoperative Care: For at least three to five days after surgery, try to keep your arm extensions to a minimum. After removing the gauze dressing, you may be required to wear a support bra to help your breasts form and maintain a pleasing and balanced shape. You will probably be able to resume exercise and normal physical activities within a month or two when soreness has subsided. You will be able to fly back home after five to seven days.

Road to Recovery: There will be some degree of soreness for a few days which can be controlled with simple analgesia. Also a degree of swelling that will go away within a week. The drain will be in place for two to three days.

Risks:

Bleeding, infection, scar and numbness or change in sensation. Breast feeding may not be possible after surgery.
